Inbox and notifications
The Inbox is where Tarsen tells you what someone else did that involves you. It stays quiet about your own actions on purpose, and it's built to actually empty out rather than grow forever.
What arrives, and what doesn't
- Someone assigns you a card.
- Someone @-mentions you in a comment.
- Someone replies on a card you're part of.
- A card you're on gets unblocked.
- Someone reacts to a comment you wrote.
Your own actions never notify you. Assigning a card to yourself, or commenting on your own card, stays silent — otherwise you'd be told about everything you just did yourself.
Reading and clearing the inbox
Unread items sit at the top. Reading one (or pressing “Mark read”) moves it into Earlier, a collapsed section below, rather than deleting it — so there's still a record, but it's out of the way. “Mark all read” only appears when there's actually something unread, and “You're all caught up” only appears once something has arrived and been dealt with; a brand-new inbox that has never received anything says so instead, rather than claiming falsely that you're caught up.
Choosing what reaches you, and where
Settings → Notifications has three independent groups, all per workspace — what a busy team board should tell you and what your own small project should tell you are rarely the same thing:

Push is registered per device, so a phone and a laptop are switched on separately. A “Send a test notification” button on the same screen confirms a device is actually receiving them.
