Ask Tarsen: chat and voice

A panel beside your board that answers from your actual project — not general knowledge — and creates nothing without you confirming it first. This is the in-app assistant; connecting an external assistant like Claude to your whole workspace is a different thing, covered on the MCP page.

Chat

Open it from a project and ask a question. Answers come only from projects you can see, and only from the project the panel is open on:

  • “What's blocking this project?”
  • “Which cards haven't moved this week?”
  • “Summarise what changed today.”
  • “Turn these notes into cards: …”

Name a card by its reference — “Explain the comments on TR-89” — and it reads that whole card: the description and every comment on it, oldest first. Without a reference it answers from a summary of the board, which carries only the most recent comments, so a long discussion is easiest to ask about by name. Follow-up questions stay on the same card, and up to three cards can be named at once to compare them.

When it wants to create something — usually cards from a request or a pasted list — it shows a proposal rather than acting immediately. Untick anything you don't want, then confirm; nothing is written until you do. Every conversation is saved, so closing the panel and reopening it later returns you to where you left off, with earlier chats reachable from the history menu.

You get 15 questions a day on the Free plan and 100 on Pro. Lifetime plans get a monthly pot sized by their tier. The remaining count shows in the panel's header.

Ask Tarsen needs an AI provider configured on the deployment. Without one, the panel says so plainly instead of failing on submit — and Mission Mode's daily plan still works either way, since it doesn't depend on AI.

Answer style

Choose how it writes from the composer: clear and concise, direct, friendly, or corporate. It's a personal preference, not a workspace one, so switching it doesn't change what your teammates see.

Voice

Hold a spoken conversation with Tarsen and change the board by talking, instead of typing into the chat panel. Every plan includes some, billed by the minute of audio rather than gated by a request count like chat, because realtime speech costs money from the moment you start talking rather than per question.

PlanVoice minutes included
Free15 minutes, once, for the whole workspace
Pro30 minutes a month, for each person

The difference matters. On Pro the allowance is counted per person and then pooled, so one quiet colleague's unused minutes aren't wasted on a month they didn't talk, and the pot refills on the 1st. On Free the 15 minutes are a one-off: they let you hear what talking to your board is actually like, and they don't come back.

It's off by default: a workspace admin switches it on in Workspace → Settings, and AI has to be enabled there too, since voice is built on the same assistant.
